Incentive Trip Costa del Sol for 80 Colleagues — Tribù

80 colleagues from a Belgian designer of garden furniture travelled to the Costa del Sol for an incentive trip with a clear message: we worked hard, we delivered great results, and now we're going to celebrate. The theme? Fiesta. The location? A beachfront resort in Motril, with the Mediterranean at the doorstep and the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background.
Nessout organised this company trip from A to Z: resort, activities, teambuilding, transport and on-site support. But looking back on this team trip, it was the combination of sport, togetherness and that one gala evening that made the difference.
Company Trip Costa del Sol: A Beachfront Resort as Home Base
For a corporate outing with 80 people, you don't just pick any hotel. You need space. Space to be together, but also to escape for a moment. We chose a resort in Motril right on the beach, with swimming pools, gardens and plenty of spots to enjoy a quiet morning coffee or chat with colleagues in the evening.
Everyone knows the Costa del Sol, but Motril is different from Marbella or Málaga. Quieter, more authentic, less mass tourism. A place where a group has the room to spread out without disappearing among thousands of other tourists. And with the mountains and sea close by, the programme had plenty of options. The advantage of a resort as a base for a team trip like this: the group felt at home immediately. Everything was nearby, and the atmosphere was there from the start.
Teambuilding on the Mediterranean: SUP, Sailing and Kayaking
The teambuilding started on the water. We organised an afternoon of water sports on the Mediterranean: stand-up paddleboarding, sailing and kayaking. Three activities, choose your own.
Water sports work as a teambuilding activity. On a kayak or SUP board, the job title disappears. The CFO standing on a board for the first time, the graphic designer trying to sail, the sales manager wrestling with a kayak... everyone starts at zero. Colleagues from different departments, who at the office might only know each other from a Teams call, are suddenly floating side by side in the water.
After the activity, everyone sat on the beach with wet hair and red cheeks. Tired, but with a smile on their face. That's how connection happens during a company outing: not in a meeting room, but with your feet in the sand.

Teambuilding Game on the Beach
Alongside the water sports, we organised a teambuilding game on the beach. The group was divided into teams that competed against each other in a series of challenges.
The beauty of a game like this is that it shuffles the cards. We deliberately mixed the teams: colleagues from different departments who have less contact at the office had to work together to win here. And once you've stood shoulder to shoulder shouting to score a point on the beach, you look at that person in the hallway differently on Monday.

Incentive Trip Highlight: Gala Evening at Sunset by the Sea
The gala evening was the moment everything came together. The theme was "fiesta", and that started at the reception. We set up a spot next to the sea, in the open air, with the sun slowly sinking over the Mediterranean.
80 colleagues with a drink in hand, the warmth of a Spanish autumn evening, the sound of the waves in the background. At a moment like this, I always step aside for a second to watch. Colleagues enjoying a place together that they would normally never visit. Relaxed faces. Conversations that flow naturally when the setting is right. That's why I do this.

Paella Under the Stars: Dining Together on a Team Trip
After the reception, the group moved to the resort garden. Round tables, beautifully set, lit with warm lighting, the sea a stone's throw away. And then paella, prepared in the traditional large pans, exactly the way it should be on the Spanish coast.
Autumn on the Costa del Sol is mild and warm. An evening eating outside in October is the most normal thing in the world here. For a Belgian team used to rain and grey skies, it feels like a gift.

Company Outing With a Party Into the Early Hours
After dinner, the lights went down, and the music came on. A DJ played for the rest of the night and the dance floor filled up fast. The next morning at breakfast, the eyes were small, but the smiles were wide.
That might be the greatest power of a well-organised company outing: you create shared memories. Back at the office on Monday morning, something has shifted. The colleague from finance is no longer a name in an inbox, but the person you partied with until three in the morning.

Why the Costa del Sol Works for an Incentive Trip With a Large Group
The Costa del Sol is an excellent choice for a company trip with a large group. Direct flights from Belgium, two hours and you're in the sun. Motril is a comfortable hour's drive from Málaga airport — far enough from the crowds, close enough for a smooth transfer.
The climate is pleasant year-round, including in autumn. In October, you can still easily eat outside. The combination of beach, sea, mountains and authentic villages gives us as organisers plenty of ingredients to build a varied programme for 80 people.
And most importantly: it doesn't feel like a standard team trip. No conference hotel in a big city, no tourist traps.

The stories from the Costa del Sol will be told for months. On the work floor, on LinkedIn, at the Friday afternoon drinks. And when someone asks how the company outing was, the answer is always the same: when are we going again?
