Company Offsite in Spain and Portugal for 80 Colleagues — Euricom

80 colleagues, changing destinations, one tradition. Euricom, a Belgian IT consultancy, returns every year — and every year, the bar keeps rising.

01. Why Euricom Organises an Annual Company Offsite

Euricom is an IT consultancy based in Mechelen, with around 80 employees. Most of them work on-site at clients' offices, scattered across different projects and locations. They don't bump into each other at the coffee machine. They don't share a Friday afternoon drink in the same office.

That's exactly why Euricom organises an annual company offsite. Four days, three nights, the entire company. A trip that brings everyone together for meetings, knowledge sharing and genuine connection. It's one of the reasons Euricom has been recognised as a Best Workplace for years running.

We've had the privilege of organising the last two editions. First in the Algarve, Portugal. Then in Andalusia, Spain.

02. Corporate Retreat in the Algarve: Tavira

The first corporate retreat took the group to Tavira, a quiet seaside town in the eastern Algarve. Far from the tourist crowds. Close to the sea. Exactly the kind of place where people slow down and open up.

The hotel sat in the middle of beautiful gardens, with an all-inclusive formula that made everything effortless: restaurants, bars, swimming pools and large meeting rooms flooded with natural light. No shuttling between venues, no logistics headaches. Everything the group needed was on-site.

During the day, work took place in meetings and workshops, where colleagues shared their knowledge and provided updates on their projects. But the real magic happened on the rooftop.

Every evening, after the meetings and activities, the group drifted upstairs. The rooftop bar became their living room. In the soft breeze of the Atlantic, colleagues who'd barely spoken all year sat together until well past midnight, laughing, catching up, forming friendships that would carry over into the months ahead.

03. Teambuilding in the Algarve: Dolphins, a Beach BBQ and Feet in the Sand

The teambuilding activity in the Algarve was one of those days people still talk about.

The group boarded a boat and headed out along the coast for a dolphin-spotting tour. And yes, the dolphins showed up. But the best part came after. The boat dropped anchor in front of a secluded beach, accessible only from the water. Small rubber dinghies started ferrying people to shore. Most didn't wait. They jumped overboard and swam.

On the beach, a BBQ lunch was waiting. 80 colleagues eating together with their feet in the sand, no tables, no formality, just grilled food, cold drinks and the Atlantic stretching out in front of them. After lunch, some played football and volleyball. Others swam in the warm water or stretched out in the sun. A few retreated under the umbrellas with a drink and a conversation that lasted all afternoon.

It was one of those rare moments where a company of 80 people felt like a group of friends.

04. Company Meetings That Don't Feel Like Meetings

A company offsite for 80 people isn't just a holiday. Euricom treats these days as a chance to align, to share and to grow together.

Two full days were dedicated to meetings. The CEO opened with a keynote, bringing everyone up to speed on the company's direction, challenges and ambitions. In a consultancy where people spend most of their time at client offices, this kind of moment matters. It's when 80 individuals become one team again, all looking in the same direction.

But the real surprise came from the colleagues themselves. In Andalusia, one employee led a workshop on his hobby — juggling. Another led a wine-tasting session. Not every session had to be about code or consulting. Some of the most valuable knowledge sharing occurred when people brought their full selves to the table, not just their CVs

The meeting rooms were equipped with full audiovisuals, natural light and proper coffee breaks in between. Professional enough for serious work. Relaxed enough that it still felt like a trip.

05. Company Trip to Andalusia: Teambuilding on the Mediterranean

In the second year, we again moved the company trip to the south, to the coast of Andalusia. A seaside all-inclusive hotel with its own beach access, restaurants, bars and a theatre-style meeting room for keynote sessions.

The vibe was different from Portugal, but the formula worked just as well. Warm weather, quiet surroundings, the sea always nearby. A holiday feeling — without being on holiday.

The teambuilding programme leaned into the Mediterranean. One day, the group hit the water: sailing, stand-up paddling and kayaking under the Andalusian sun. Another day brought a sports tournament — tennis and beach volleyball — with just enough competitive spirit to keep things entertaining. Cultural visits rounded out the programme, giving the group a taste of the region beyond the hotel.

In the evenings, instead of a rooftop, there were beach bars. The group walked down after dinner, ordered drinks with their feet in the sand and let the conversations run long. Different setting, same result.

06. Eating Together on a Corporate Retreat

Meals were a central part of both company trips. The hotels served local food in generous buffets, and the group always sat together — outside, in the open air. Long tables under the sun with 80 colleagues sharing a meal, the way it should be.

There's something about eating together that meetings alone can't achieve. Conversations happen naturally. People mix. The CEO sits next to a junior developer. Two colleagues from different projects realise they have more in common than they thought.

07. Company Trip Logistics: From Airport to Hotel

Private coaches handled all transport — from the airport to the hotel, and from the hotel to every activity. The group never had to think about logistics. They just showed up.

That's the kind of detail that makes a corporate retreat work for a company. When you're bringing 80 people abroad, every transition needs to be seamless. One point of contact, one plan, zero hassle.

08. Why a Company Offsite Pays Off

After two editions, the annual company offsite has become the most anticipated event in Euricom's calendar. And the results speak for themselves:

* Reconnection: Colleagues who spend most of their year working at different client offices finally get four days together. They stop being names on a project list and start being people who know each other — who trust each other.

* Alignment: The CEO's keynote and the knowledge-sharing sessions get everyone on the same page. In a fast-moving consultancy, that alignment is worth more than any internal newsletter.

* Appreciation: A four-day trip to Portugal or Spain is not a small gesture. Employees see it for what it is — a genuine investment in them. And they return to work feeling valued, motivated and part of something bigger.

* Team spirit: After the boat trip in the Algarve, after the sports tournament in Andalusia, after the late nights on the rooftop and the long dinners in the open air — people feel like a family. Not just a company.

* A tradition that attracts talent: A company that flies 80 people to the Algarve or Andalusia every year sends a message. It's the kind of story that travels. And in a competitive IT market, that matters.
